I HATE GERMS

Ok so I as I write this my sweet little boy is again sacked out on the hide-a-bed trying to catch up on his much needed rest of the last three days of marathon puking!!!!!!!!!
I know you are asking yourself...didn't your chronically ill kids just have respiratory infection/pneumonia?? YES!! So why are we battling another (more disgusting) virus?? I HAVE NO IDEA!! I suppose, if I want to be positive I could say it is so our immune systems can grow and hopefully we won't be sick every other week next year. At least I hope so, that is my silver lining to this puke filled cloud. (Sorry, I am a nurse so I hope I'm not making anyone queasy.)
Actually after dealing with this last round of sickness, my Hubby has sweetly named me "Iron Stomach," and we aren't talking Abs of Steel here. Of course, he is super puking guy himself, but he has helped a lot this round, and is getting much better at being able to help instead of leaving the room, yard or the state of Missouri everytime one of our children says his tummy hurts. (Major step up from dry heaving in our front yard shortly after we got married by just attempting to clean up what our cat's tummy rejected.

Ok so enough yucky stuff. The boys and Eric are on the road to recovery. And hopefully we won't have another illness soon. And thanks to Julie for bringing my family all the goodies to help them while I was working...That was so sweet!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Crazy week

Hi everyone..our last week has been crazy so I haven't blogged for a little bit. Caleb was sick with pneumonia, and we found out he has asthma...poor guy! Then due to a sweet little puppy's visit at our house we inherited fleas and had to set off a bug bomb and completely strip our house of all the boys' clothes and toys. I honestly think it was worst than moving! But, Caleb is well, our house is cleaner than it has been in a long time and life will hopefully be a little less eventful this week.

We went to the park earlier today and it is WINDY!!! Wow! Seriously it almost made Caleb fall over. Eric told me later that it may get up to 50 mph winds here today. Can't believe I picked that day to go to the park, but oh well! Then I got to take two boys to the store! Crazy! They did pretty good. Strangely enough Luke is going through a huge helper phase. He hands us the wipes if we have to change Caleb, and grabs Caleb and brings him back if he is trying to run off. He has done lots of other things too like help me put the groceries away and lots more! I hope this phase stays around!!

At the park Caleb chipped his front tooth on those concrete toys you ride on. (I don't know how else to describe them..but this one was an alligator) Thankfully it isn't too noticeable, but now both my kids have chipped front teeth. Oh well, at least he didn't knock them out, which is what it sounded like when he hit.

We are starting a new Bible study at church that I am really looking forward to..It's called Love Dare and it's based off the movie "FireProof" with Kirk Cameron. I haven't seen the movie yet, but they showed a clip of it at church on Sunday and it looked really good. So, hopefully the study will be good also!
Well this blog has been really random, but that's all my news for now!
Have a great day!

EATING

I dedicate this blog to the millions of children around the world who will go to bed hungry tonight. Today is Global Food Crisis Day through Compassion International. I was absolutely heartbroken to discover that every 7 seconds someone in the world dies from starvation or starvation related illness.
How many times in the last week have I over ate??? Like probably everyday. But daily, parents in other countries, and maybe some in our own, have to choose which one of their children will get to eat that day.
Ok, so as tears come down, as I think of having my babies cry at night because of hunger...I am asking anyone who reads this to be in prayer and/or fasting for the Global Food Crisis. The recent economic problems are worsening poverty worldwide as food prices are soaring. We all know that we take a hit when we go to the grocery store..but this huge increase is literally killing people worldwide.
Please go to www.compassioninternational.com to read more about this and be in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are hungry. We are God's hands and feet...we can help!

Ps: Julie can you figure out how to ship millions of Mama Sara cookies to the rest of the world?!?

I AM SECOND

Hi everybody!
Hope you are all doing well. Just wanted to pass along this awesome website called www.iamsecond.com It has a bunch of testimonies of famous people, and how they finally changed their lives and allowed Christ to come first, and they took second place.
What a reminder of what we should do daily! I didn't know Jason Castro (from last year's American Idol) was a Christian! It was also awesome to hear Darrell Waltrip's testimony and how even in the midst of the insanity of fame....God can reach people and use them for His glory!!
Hope you all enjoy!

American Idol

Ok, so for anyone who doesn't know, Eric and I are huge American Idol junkies. We have been for a couple of years now. We tape it, and then watch it after the kids go to bed. (Yeah and we are that high tech...still the good old VHS action...remember those big black things that you stick in that outdated thing called a VCR??? yeah I'm talking about that)
Anywhoo, just wanted to send a shout out to any other crazed fans...Can I just say I'm so glad that "bikini girl" is gone??? That took entirely too long to knock her off. And my favorite right now is Danny, the guy who has glasses and sings amazingly and just recently lost his wife. And I also love the Oil rigger guy and the big bald guy. Those are my favs so far.
Anybody else got a favorite yet???

Long overdue pics!

Ok so I am super slow to get all these pics on here, but here is some of them. I just remembered one reason it takes me so long to post. All my pics download through my Easy Share software, then to put them on here I have to resave them to my documents...I don't know why..but it's complicated, and you all know what a techno whiz I am! Anyway the pics are Luke and Caleb's coolest Christmas present from us (and like Amy the date is off on my camera so it really was Christmas!) They have fun running around and "fixing" everything in my house now. I actually the heard these words come out of my mouth yesterday "Luke do not drill your brother!!" Ok, put that on the list of things I didn't think I would have to say, right next to "Use your fork and stop eating like a caveman," and "Momma is going to go potty first if you don't hurry" (Seriously I have to threaten Luke that I will go first, just to get him to go to the bathroom...is competition in their blood so early? Guess it comes with testosterone)
Next is what I found my little angel doing when I put him in the car, while I ran back in to get Luke. Apparently driving is in his blood (the Johnson side) and he couldn't wait to get an early start.
The next pic is for Avery...your little cowboy is blowing you a kiss. So when you are thirty and your Mom and Dad let you date, we may be able to arrange something. (Only if your Mom promises to make me cookies for the rest of my life)
And yes, in the next pic, it is Halloween. So I'm either super later or incredibly early. Those of you who know me, and are groaning, already know that answer. Anyway, those are officially my little monkeys. Luke's George costume was a little freaky looking, but he was really excited about it. And Caleb was just adorable. And I got them both for $8--go rummage sale Momma!
And finally is my photo entry for Mrs America in my Mommy attire. We are making Christmas cookies which equals two boys under four and one CRAZY Mommy! But we had fun! And the boys ate their weight in cookies and dough. We dyed the dough this time, and it was really neat and the boys got a big kick out of it!
So, other than the pics I don't have too much more to mention. I've been working nights more which is a challenge. I never get to sleep before I go in so I'm usually up for 24 or 25 hrs before I get any sleep. So it kinda feels like surviving rather than good nursing care, but I'm trying my best. The boys and I have been sick but thankfully we are on the mend. Poor Caleb has had more medicine in the last week to choke a horse, but he's a trooper. And he had to get three shots today and a finger stick at his checkup..but he's still my happy-go-lucky guy!
We are going to the library and grocery store tomorrow, so any prayers thrown my way would be greatly appreciated. Oh and we had a lot of scary ice the other day, but God is good and I didnt' have to work any of the days that it was bad, so we didn't get the boys out in it.
I can't think of any more excitement to add...so I better go! Oh, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the Girard Bible Church anniversary at the end of February, and can't wait to see you Christi and Amy!!
Have a good day!

Where does the time go?

So, where exactly does the time go? It must go live wherever the other sock in the dryer takes up residence. It seems like not so long ago that I blogged but it has been forever! LIfe has been so busy and chaotic since then. Christmas was great! We saw lots of family. Unfortunately Eric's Grandpa (PoPo) was in the hospital, and still is at Mt Carmel, so we visited him there rather than getting to share the holiday with him. My kiddos hit the jackpot and got all sorts of toys everywhere they went. Whenever people would ask Luke what Santa got him, he would scream "Presents!" then we you ask him what they were, he says "Presents!" and then he started naming off stuff that my Mom, or Donna got him. I think he got a little confused!

Since all the Christmas festivities, we have sped through my bday (I think I am officially done having them as of this year) and New Years. We spent New Years at Christi and Robert's and had a great time catching up! The kids had a ball playing together and Christi fed us like kings! Then we came home and spent last Friday night with Julie and Avery, and Chris, Amy, Kaylee and Lauryn which was lots of fun!! We played Wii half the night (I'm still sore after boxing, Julie!) and let the kids pig out on Mama Sara cookies and run around like wild banchees!
We had a great time!!

Now we are back to the grind. I worked yesterday (on the Rehab unit) and am going to begin working some overnights on Friday. We'll see how that goes!! Oh, and Caleb is on a word explosion! He tries to say everything! He can (kind of) count to three! (He loves two, it's his favorite) Luke is infatuated with his Little Einstein's computer and sits up in plays it in his bed when he thinks we can't hear. We have had to take it away the last two nights....silly kiddo!

Well, better go. I'm actually going to try to do Taebo, so I may not be able to type anything for awhile, because I imagine many pulled muscles in my future!! (That's what I get for watching the Biggest Loser and getting all excited)--If you haven't ever watched it, it's amazing!!

Anyway, I'll try to post some Christmas pics soon!
